The King Of Kong: A Fistful Of Quarters (Razorsharp)

I'd previously heard some great things about this documentary & I'm pleased to report that it didn't disappoint in the slightest.

Initially, it's quite difficult to stop yourself from looking down on people who are attempting to validate their pretty much meaningless lives by attaining the highest score ever achieved in a specific 'old school' video game. But then you suddenly find that you've been completely sucked into newbie Steve Weibe's plight and after that you really do desire nothing else than seeing Billy Mitchell well & truly getting his 'just deserts'.

Although I'm aware that some of the 'facts' have been spiced up a little to make things more exciting for the viewer, this is still an absolute gem of an 'underdog' movie and anyone that makes the effort to seek it out will almost certainly be glad that they did.

Razorback Rating = Superb

The why...

This blog represents an ongoing list of flicks watched by my good self. Every movie viewed will be awarded one of seven ratings ('Unmissable', 'Superb', 'Very Decent', 'Decent', 'Decent Enough', 'Watchable' & finally 'Worthless') and any flick that falls under one of the first three ratings categories will also be awarded 'Razorsharp' status (which means it's pretty much a 'must see' movie in my not so humble opinion).
