The Fugitive (Razorsharp)

I always found it a bit strange that Tommy Lee Jones won an Oscar for his role in this movie, that's not to say that he isn't good value in this flick but award worthy? Can't say that I'm completely convinced about that and I certainly think the standard of his performance falls quite a bit short of Harrison Ford's, who manages to add a great degree of vulnerability to his character.

As for the movie itself, well it really is an exciting & surprisingly intelligent action flavoured thriller that easily manages to hold up to repeat viewings. However, it does fall slightly short of cinematic perfection and the reason for this is that from my perspective, I think it ends with an unsuitably positive vibe.

(Potential Spoiler Alert)

Obviously I understand that Dr. Richard Kimble should feel pleased/relieved to have cleared his name but the bottom line is that he's still lost the love of his life & I've always felt that this flick doesn't do quite enough to show his acknowledgement of this emotional aspect before the end credits make an appearance.

The why...

This blog represents an ongoing list of flicks watched by my good self. Every movie viewed will be awarded one of seven ratings ('Unmissable', 'Superb', 'Very Decent', 'Decent', 'Decent Enough', 'Watchable' & finally 'Worthless') and any flick that falls under one of the first three ratings categories will also be awarded 'Razorsharp' status (which means it's pretty much a 'must see' movie in my not so humble opinion).
