Splinter

This movie represents a bit of missed opportunity IMO, it contains a decent enough premise (albeit one that steals heavily from 'The Thing') but unfortunately due to the visuals of this flick being very poorly executed by it's director, it's actually very difficult to feel any real connection with either the characters or the events that are occurring 'on-screen'. It's almost as if the camera had been mounted on a washing machine that was half way through it's 'fast spin' cycle, because at some points it's almost impossible to see what's happening.

Maybe the shaky cam effect was employed to hide just how poor/unfinished the special effects actually are (this is, after all, a relatively low budget movie) but price the makers of this movie ultimately pay is that they end up delivering to the viewer something that can only be described as a deeply frustrating experience and one that very few, if any, are going to want to revisit at some point in the future.

The why...

This blog represents an ongoing list of flicks watched by my good self. Every movie viewed will be awarded one of seven ratings ('Unmissable', 'Superb', 'Very Decent', 'Decent', 'Decent Enough', 'Watchable' & finally 'Worthless') and any flick that falls under one of the first three ratings categories will also be awarded 'Razorsharp' status (which means it's pretty much a 'must see' movie in my not so humble opinion).
