I'm a really big fan of the original flick, it's an incredibly claustrophobic movie with a superbly downbeat ending...which is one of the main reasons I absolutely struggled to get anything out of the sequel.
You see, for the original flick's release in the USA, they decided to 'edit' the ending which not only meant that the movie finished on a more positive note (albeit not that positive) but also meant that this sequel actually makes some sort of sense. For someone that has seen the original flick in all it's uncut glory, what occurs in the sequel...simply...cannot...happen, and subsequently it's then pretty impossible to derive anything other than contempt from the viewing of this particular movie.
Even if I had only seen the edited version of the original, I still think that I'd view the sequel as a 'by the numbers' horror flick which basically just retreads the plot of what had gone on before. However, I will concede that this movie does at least contain one decent twist in it's illogical tail and for that reason, and for that reason alone, it's managed to avoid being awarded a 'worthless' rating.
Razorback Rating = Watchable
