When I'd watched the previous movies in the Bourne 'Trilogy', I hadn't actually bothered to see them at the cinema and instead was happy to just wait for the subsequent release on DVD. However, considering just how good the first two flicks actually were, there really wasn't any chance of me not looking to catch the third movie at earliest possible opportunity. But when I eventually sat down in front of the 'silver screen', I couldn't help but feel a slight sense of deja vu.
Although there wasn't anything actually wrong with the events that were unfolding in front of me, it just seemed that this instalment wasn't really doing anything other than covering old ground and that in some ways it was attempting to stretch out rather than make any definitive progress with the overall storyline. This was then proved to be the case as it was subsequently revealed, in the final twenty or so minutes of this flick, that pretty much everything that had gone before was actually occurring in between the final two scenes of the previous movie.
I have to say that this really rather annoyed me as it made me feel like I'd wasted a couple of hours of my valuable time (especially as the only real revelation in this flick was that Nicky & Jason Bourne were once an 'item'). However, when viewed in isolation it's hard to argue that this movie is anything other than a very solid action flavoured thriller therefore despite my annoyance with it, it still manages to (just about) qualify for 'Razorsharp' status.
Razorback Rating = Very Decent
